Chris Cordeiro grew up in Kingston, Ontario and began playing music with her mothers' pots and pans at age 9. Not long after her metallic drum solos, was her debut as a singer at age 12, when she performed a one woman show for her dog, Tina Louisa Fifi Conisha Bumbalina Tomata Cordeiro. From hairbrush to microphone, from wooden spoons to drum sticks, Chris has become a talented and influential singer/songwriter. No matter the genre--rock/country/traditional Portuguese/R&B--she is not only a remarkable writer and performer, but also a passionate and committed artist.
Chris's first bona-fide job as a musician was at age 16, as the vocalist of a 5 piece Latin band called "4 and 1". At ages 18 and 20, she was a vocalist for Latin bands "Change of Pace" and "Tempo", respectively. Her earlier studio work includes a 7 song pop/country LP and the recording of 4 Portuguese influenced songs. In 2004, as headliner for the Stone Fence Festival, she had the privilege of sharing the stage with 7 local bands. A frequent open-mic performer, Chris has entertained crowds in Tennessee, Florida, Pennsylvania, New York and Massachusetts. Currently in the studio working on her rock debut, "Balance", Chris hopes to have a release date sometime in early 2006.
Thanks to her versatility as an artist and her dedication to fans, Chris has made a name for herself in her community and hopes one day to reach people on a national level. Her up-beat stage presence, along with her witty, charismatic personality combine to make her live shows full of an energy that leaves the audience fulfilled and rejuvenated.
